Basement Fire on
Dorothy Place
Story by Dan Neri On March 17, 2018,
while renovations were being performed on a boiler on a
house, a wire from the thermostat to the boiler was inadvertently
charged and started a fire in the walls of a house on Dorothy Place
in Lynbrook. Unit 421 was first due and under the command
of Chief Carl Lengel, extinguished the fire using five-gallon water
cans. Additional units from Lynbrook arrived and began opening up
the walls from the basement to the first floor to find some charring
in the walls on the first floor. There was minor damage to the home. |
