Driver Trapped in Accident Story & photos by Ex Captain Steven Grogan
For the second time on Friday, August 4, 2017, Lynbrook firefighters
responded to a serious auto accident in Lynbrook. At
approximately 6:30 PM firefighters, under the command of First
Assistant Chief William Abrams, responded to a two-vehicle accident
with entrapment at Peninsula Blvd and Vincent Avenue. Truck
Company, Tally-Ho, Medical Company, and Northwell Health ambulances
responded to the scene. A female driving an SUV collided with
a second vehicle at the intersection and was trapped in the driver's
seat. Truck Company used their extrication tools to take off
the driver's door so Medical Company personnel could remove the
driver to a stretcher. She was transported to the hospital in
the Medical Company ambulance. The driver of the second
vehicle was attended to by Northwell Health paramedics who
transported that driver to the hospital in their ambulance.
Tally-Ho assisted at the scene and secured the two vehicles.
