Truck Company Celebrates 140 Years of Service

Lynbrook's Rescue Hook, Ladder and Bucket Company No 1 of the
Lynbrook Fire Department celebrated its 140th Anniversary as a fire
company on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at their firehouse on Earle
Avenue. Lynbrook Mayor Alan Beach, along with Trustees
Michael Hawxhurst and Ann Marie Reardon, along with Assemblywoman
Judy Griffith, Town Councilman Anthony D'Esposito, and Receiver of
Taxes Donald Clavin, were on hand to celebrate the occasion and
present Citations and also to honor the outgoing Captain Phil Tkacz.
The company was formed on November 25, 1879 when the Village of
Lynbrook was called Pearsall's. The company was formed by a
group of fifteen concerned residents and the first fire company
formed for a growing community. |
