Story by Ex-Captain/Hon Chief Steve Grogan; Photos &Video by Brian Grogan
The Lynbrook Fire Department came out in droves Wednesday night,
April 22, 2020 to honor their outgoing Fire Chief Nick Pearsall.
Due to the pandemic and in keeping with social distancing, the
firefighters drove by the Chief's home on Hendrickson Avenue on
their fire trucks with horns and sirens blaring. They were led
by the new incoming chief, Michael Brooks who took office yesterday,
Tuesday. Included in the long caravan of fire vehicles that
passed the chief, who stood in his driveway with his wife and two
boys, were chiefs and apparatus from neighboring fire departments
who also came out to thank Chief Pearsall for his service.
Even after the fire vehicles passed other firefighters driving their
own vehicles drove by blowing their car horns. Present to
watch the honors for Chief Pearsall was Lynbrook Mayor Alan Beach.
Chief Pearsall was elected Lynbrook's Fire Chief in 2019 after being
elected the three previous years as an assistant chief.
