On Monday morning October 5, 2009, at 5:23 AM, the Lynbrook Fire Department, under the command of Chief Kevin Bien, was called out for a reported car fire at Merrick Road and Forest Avenue. First Deputy Chief Ray Burke was first on the scene and broadcast a working car fire to Vulcan, Hose, and Truck Companies, who responded to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished by one attack line from Vulcan Company. Firefighters were on the scene for about one half hour. There were no injuries to the driver or the firefighters. |
