On Friday, May 11, 2012, the Lynbrook Fire Department held their Annual Installation Dinner at the Chateau Briand on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury, and honored its outgoing Chief, Michael Hynes of Engine Company. Also, the new chiefs, led by Chief Engineer Anthony "Zemo" Decarlo, was sworn into office, as were the company officers, ceremoniallly, by Mayor William Hendrick. Also receiving honors from the department and the village was Ex-Chief Kevin Michaud of Hose Company for his 50 years of service. He was made an honorary Commissioner. Additionally, Ex-Chief and Nassau County Commissioner Robert Cribbin was named by Ex-Chief Hynes as Lynbrook's Firefighter of the Year.
