At the Fire Council meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 2015, James McDermott of Truck Company was sworn in for the second time as Chief Engineer of the Lynbrook Fire Department by Lynbrook Mayor William Hendrick.  McDermott was previously Chief of Department in 2005-2006.  Also sworn in with him was First Assistant Chief John Chavatte of Hose Company, Second Assistant Chief Carl Lengel of Vulcan Company, and the new Third Assistant Chief, William "Bucky" Abrams of Engine Company.  After the swearing in and congratulations a bottle of champagne was opened and the mayor toasted the newly sworn in chiefs and the department for a safe year.  At that point Chief McDermott swore in the line and unit officers for the coming year.  That was followed by Village Administrator John Giordano who swore in the wardens.
