Scholarship Awarded to Junior In Memory of Ex-Chief Ron Festa

On Sunday, June 3, 2007, at a meeting of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department, Kathy Festa, wife of the late Ex-Chief and Honorary Fire Commissioner Ronald Festa, and her children, presented a $500 scholarship in Ron’s memory to a member of the Lynbrook Junior Fire Department.  The Festa Family will present this annual $500 scholarship to a member of the Juniors for the next 20 years. 

In the above photo, Kathy Festa presents the first check to Brian Cribbin, son of Ex-Captain Eugene Cribbin, and his wife Donna, of Vulcan Company.  Joining in the presentation are Kathy and Ron’s children, from left to right, Ex-Chief Keith Festa, daughter Amy, with her son, Ryan, and Ex-Captain Peter Festa, with his son, Jake.  Also on hand for the presentation are, from middle to right, Fire Chief Robert Occhipinti, First Assistant Chief John O’Reilly, Second Assistant Chief Kevin Bien, and Third Assistant Chief Raymond Burke.
