September 11th Memorial Service 2014 Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan
On September 11, 2014, the members of the Lynbrook Fire Department, its Ladies Auxiliary and Junior Fire Department, under the leadership of Chief Michael Anderson, joined with village residents and families of those who perished on that day, at the Village of Lynbrook's annual 9/11 Memorial Service in the rear of village hall where two steal columns from the World Trade Center now stand. Chief Anderson stood with the mayor and other dignitaries, while the department and Ladies Auxiliary lined the steps of village hall. The juniors were part of the service and stood-by the stone of each resident who died that day and presented a flower to those family members present to place on the stone as each name was called.
