Ex-Chief Dominick DeCarlo Laid to Rest

On Saturday, January 28, 2011, after two days of services at Flinch and Bruns Funeral Home, Ex-Chief Dominick (Uncle Dom) J. DeCarlo, Jr, a 65 year member of Tally-Ho Engine Company 3 of the Lynbrook Fire Department, and an Honorary Commissioner, was laid to rest at Holy Rood Cemetery after services at Our Lady of Peach Roman Catholic Church in Lynbrook. Dom's coffin was brought on Tally-Ho's rig to OLP where his fellow firefighters carried him into church for a Mass of Christian Burial After church services the fire truck, escorted by New York State Police vehicles (who closed Southern State and Meadowbrook Parkways for the long funeral procession) carried him under three different fire department arches to his final resting place at Holy Rood.
