On Monday morning, May 6, 2013, the Lynbrook Fire Department's Extrication Team freed the driver trapped behind the wheel or her car after she was in an accident with two other vehicles, a pick-up and a van, at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Lakeview Avenue.  The Extrication Team used the "spreader" tool to pry apart the bumpers of the woman's vehicle and the pick-up truck.  The pick-up was then moved out of the way so the Team and the members of the Emergency Medical Company could remove the driver onto a board and stretcher by way of her driver's door.  She was then transported to Mercy Hospital by the Medical Company.
