On October 16, 2008, the Lynbrook Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Company No. 1 was named Nassau County’s EMS Agency of the Year by the Nassau Regional Emergency Medical Services Council (NREMSC) at their Annual Awards Dinner held at the Coral House in Baldwin.  The NREMSC overseas all EMS services, whether it is a private, volunteer fire department, or the county’s paid police EMS, services. 

 

The Council is made up of a board consisting of doctors, nurses, fire department and police department personnel, and hospital personnel.

 

Additionally, Lynbrook Emergency Medical Company member Cathy Aresta was awarded Honorable Mention in the category of Advanced Life Support Provider of the Year.  She also received a second Honorable Mention as EMS Educator of Excellence.  

 

The Village of Lynbrook recognized the Medical Company for their Nassau County honors at the Village Board meeting of November 17, 2008, when Mayor Brian Curran presented a Citation to the officers and members.   Congratulations.
