At the Fire Council meeting of the Lynbrook Fire Department on Tuesday, April 17,2007, outgoing Chief Keith Festa turned over the department to the new Chief, Robert Occhipinti of Engine Company. Chief Occhipinti was sworn into office, along with First Assistant Chief John O'Reilly (Engine Company), Second Assistant Chief Kevin Bien (Truck Company), and the new Third Assistant Chief Ray Burke (Hose Company), by Lynbrook Mayor Brian Curran, a firefighter in Hose Company. After the Chiefs were sworn in Mayor Curran opened a bottle of champagne and toasted the new Chiefs.
Chief Occhipinti as his first official act swore in the elected officers of the six companies and one unit that make up the Lynbrook Fire Department. Village Administrator John Giordano then swore in the wardens of the department. |
