Vulcan Wet Down

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, the members of Vulcan Company 2 christened their new 2013 Inferno 74" custom chassis 1500 gallon pumper built by Ferrara Fire Apparatus at ceremonies and a wet down in front of their fire house on Denton Avenue. On hand for the ceremonies was Ex-Chief Fred Senti Sr of the Lakeview FD who presented a Citation from Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Ex-Chief Chris Sheldon of the East Rockaway FD who presented a Citation on behalf of Senior Town Councilman Anthony Santino. Lynbrook Mayor William Hendrick also said a few words during the ceremony and later, Assemblyman Brian Curran stopped-by to congratulate the members. During the ceremony, Honorary Chief Charlie Weiler, after a few tries, broke a bottle of champagne on the front bumper of the new engine. Monsignor Bill Breslowski of Our Lady of Peace, and a department chaplain, also blessed the engine. |
