Lynbrook FD And Chamber Help Wounded Warriors Story and Photos by Ex-Captain Steve Grogan
On August 18, 2012, members of the Lynbrook Fire Department who are part of Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior participated in the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce's Car Show in the parking lot behind the Atlantic Avenue stores. The Chamber of Commerce will be making a donation to Operation Wounded Warrior from monies raised during their weekly car shows. On this night, Engine Company brought their Ahrens-Fox to the car show. Lynbrook firefighters sold Operation Wounded Warrior T-shirts and chances to win a OWW fire helmet designed by Lynbrook firefighter Clayton Murphy that someone will win on September 30th. The Lynbrook Fire Department will host its second annual fundraiser for NCFF-OWW on Sunday, September 30th when they will hold a Community Concert for our Troops. The block party event will be held from 12 noon to 6 PM on a closed Earle Avenue and in front of Truck Company's firehouse. The cost is only $20 per person. A number of wounded warriors from Bethesda are expected to be in Lynbrook for this event and other events that weekend. All firefighters are asked to support this great cause. |
