On the afternoon of Saturday, December 20, 2014, the Lynbrook Fire Department held their annual Christmas Fire Truck Rides from the Earle Avenue parking lot. A couple of hundred people brought their kids for rides on Lynbrook's fire engines and ladders around the downtown village streets.  They then got a chance to meet and sit with Santa Claus inside Truck Company's firehouse.  The department has held this annual Christmas event for the children for over 55 years.  One family that enjoyed the rides was Fox TV's Megyn Kelly, her husband, and three children.  Kelly, star of The Kelly File, and very gracious, posed with the chief, mayor, and members of the department.   On her show two nights later Kelly acknowledged the efforts of our firefighters to help our wounded warriors as part of Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior.
