Lynbrook FD Participates in the Parade of Champions

On Sunday morning, December 10, 2006, the volunteers and apparatus of the Lynbrook Fire Department participated in the Lynbrook High School’s Parade of Champions in the downtown shopping area of the village.  The parade which was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Lynbrook recognized four high school sports teams that were sectional or regional champions in 2006.  The champion sports teams included soccer, swimming, football, and track.   

The teams and cheerleaders rode atop Lynbrook’s fire trucks from the Earle Avenue parking field to Atlantic Avenue where a grandstand was set up and local officials recognized the teams and their coaches.   Besides the Chamber of Commerce and the mayor and village trustees, Hempstead Town Councilman Anthony Santino and State Assemblyman Robert Barra were in attendance to honor the teams.
